Griffin Discovery Room at Monticello
Charlottesville, VA
We designed this Griffin Discovery Room exhibit to encourage families to experience Monticello through the words and deeds of Thomas Jefferson, his family, and the free and enslaved workers who lived there. This highly interactive exhibit promotes discovery as visitors construct their own narrative by finding quotes and text snippets engraved and affixed on virtually every object and surface in the room. The absence of traditional graphic panels creates a fully immersive experience of learning through active engagement.
